New Shoutbox feature

There are some new features on Dan's Web Spot that I hope you like. I have been testing them and I think they're ready for prime time...

  • ShoutBox: This is sort of a live chat/message board that all visitors can see. You can find it in the sidebar to the right. There are many options that can be configured, but right now, to reduce spam, I have enabled the Captcha feature. This basically requires you to answer a simple math equation once during your visit in order to be able to enter comments in the ShoutBox.
  • Private Chat Room: This is a basic chat room but has the additional feature of retaining the comments (not sure how many right now). This is technically referred to as a "Chatroll" (from the term "blogroll"). Usage of the chat room requires registration with Dan's Web Spot and you must be logged-in to access the tool. Using this Chatroll, registered users can leave messages for other registered users to view and comment on.

Check them out!

Photos Page Now Requires User Login

Attention:

Please note that the Photos page has been updated so it now requires a valid login instead of just a static password.

If you don't have an account, you can sign up for free. You will receive an activation email containing a link that you need to click on to confirm your account... then you're all set.

If you forgot your existing password, click here to request a new one, or use the link in the sidebar. Just remember that if you send yourself a new password, it will likely be difficult to remember, so make sure to reset the password to one that you want (and can remember) the next time that you log in.

You can also register or login through the sidebar links. If needed, I can always create an account for you and/or set a password for you.

Hopefully this goes smoothly for everyone. » More...

More new photos are posted

Just a quick note here that I have posted the following groups of photos on the Photos Page. Better late than never, I guess:

  • Thanksgiving 2008
  • Michael's 10th Birthday
  • Christmas 2008 at my house
  • Christmas 2008 at Dei's house

Note that viewing the pictures requires a password. If you have it already, great; if you need it there's a link on the photos page to request it.

Updated 09Mar2009:

One more time: The wedding date has changed

Hopefully, this is the final change in plans...

Samai and I needed to cut some wedding costs, so we decided to cancel the reception at the Dockside in York, ME, and change it to the Great Bay Gallery in Somersworth.

The wedding will be at St. Joseph's Church in Dover at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 23, 2009, with a reception following at the Great Bay Gallery. We have reserved half of the hall for the whole day so timing shouldn't be an issue, plus it is much closer to the church than York for all travelers.

Hopefully this option will cost us about half as much as originally planned, but will be as much, if not more fun... ;)

Here are the church and function hall web sites and driving directions links:
